Abnehmspritze "GLP-1 Agonist"

Pharmacology
GLP-1 receptor agonists mimic the effect of the body’s incretin hormone GLP-1. They influence appetite regulation, satiety, hunger, glucose metabolism and gastric emptying. Their main role in weight management is to reduce appetite and caloric intake, making a controlled calorie deficit easier to maintain.

The Science
Weight reduction does not occur through direct “fat burning”, but mainly through a more sustainable calorie deficit. GLP-1-based therapies can reduce hunger, increase satiety, reduce cravings and improve control over eating behavior. For a medically meaningful result, the therapy should be combined with sufficient protein intake, resistance training, daily movement and progress monitoring.

Multi-Ethnic Approach
BMI alone does not reflect metabolic risk equally across all ethnic groups. Body fat distribution, visceral fat, insulin resistance, family risk and metabolic vulnerability may differ. At VEJIN, weight is not evaluated in isolation. Body composition, risk profile, lifestyle, goals and medical indication are considered together.

Effect
GLP-1-based therapy can support controlled weight reduction by reducing hunger and lowering caloric intake. The goal is fat mass reduction while preserving as much lean muscle mass as possible. This is why protein strategy, resistance training and long-term lifestyle planning are part of the treatment concept.

Possible Side Effects
Common side effects include nausea, fullness, reflux, constipation, diarrhea, reduced appetite and fatigue. Relevant risks include dehydration, gallbladder symptoms, rare pancreatitis, hypoglycemia especially in combination with certain antidiabetic medications and individual intolerance. Dose escalation should be gradual and clinically documented.

Material Used
GLP-1 receptor agonists according to medical indication, injection pens, an individual dosing plan, medical intake documentation, weight monitoring and optional laboratory or body composition analysis may be used.

Techniques
The medication is administered as a subcutaneous self-injection after instruction. Treatment usually starts with a low dose followed by gradual titration. The therapy is combined with nutrition strategy, protein planning, resistance training and structured follow-up.
